Women's Future Involvement in War
1861-Present
Significance:
During the 18th century women weren't allowed to actively fight. However, gradually over time that has changed. Their initial movements and actions to help the war earned them respect. Many men thought women could not handle such severe situations, yet they proved themselves during the Revolutionary War. Because the women during the Revolution made such a significant contribution to the war, women in future years looked to them a forerunners, and inspirations.
